Programs
S.N.A.P. Academy is committed to making its programs and website usable by everybody. Parents, guardians and caregivers may contact us to discuss a student's learning, medical, communication, or accessibility needs. Requests are considered individually, based on the student's needs and the structure of the program.
This website
These are the things that have been tested on this site, on every public page, at desktop and at phone size, using an automated accessibility audit and by operating the site with a keyboard alone:
- Every page can be used with a keyboard alone, including the menu, the forms, the registration steps and the parent portal.
- Keyboard focus is always visible, and it moves through each page in the order the page reads.
- Every form field has a label that is attached to it, and errors are reported in text next to the field they belong to.
- Text and background colors meet the WCAG 2.1 AA contrast standard, including text placed over photographs.
- Photographs carry a description for screen readers, and decorative images are hidden from them.
- Headings are in order, and the page can be navigated by heading.
- Text can be enlarged in your browser without content being cut off or overlapping.
- Color is never the only way information is given.
- Movement is limited to one slow background effect, and it stops entirely when your device is set to reduce motion.
We have not yet had this site tested by an independent accessibility auditor or by people using assistive technology day to day. Automated checks and keyboard testing find many problems but not all of them, and we would rather tell you that than claim more than we have verified.
If something is difficult to use
If any part of this website or of a program is difficult for you or your child to use, tell us and we will help you directly while we put it right.
- Call 256-384-5271.
- Use the contact form.
- Ask in person, by appointment, at 117 Wholesale Avenue NE, Huntsville, AL 35811.
If a form on this site is the thing that is not working for you, the phone number above is the way around it. You do not need to use a form, or to have a parent account, to reach us or to ask about a program.
Tell us what you were trying to do and what got in the way. That is the most useful thing you can give us, and it is what we act on.
